Oh, MY. This was a momentous edition indeed. So much to chew on! Let me see if I can remember it all.
So OBVI, my favorite line was this:
[this is quickly becoming a cat newsletter and I don’t even care ‘tis the season]. You read my stuff so you KNOW that I already love your kittens and expect regular appearances, please. Congrats, mama! (and is the one your husband is holding a medium-long hair?). Also, this is apropos of nothing, but you and your husband are a nice-looking pair 🤩
Ok, BOOKS!
OMG, thank you for the Britney review. My instincts were telling me exactly what your review said. I’m ok to skip this one now, so thank you.
The Duggars...oh BOY. I love love love a good “I left a cult” story. Scientology, FLDS, Waco, Westboro...so, so many. Megan Phelps-Roper probably wrote the best one - I think it was called Unfollow. I’m digress - did you see the Duggar documentary? It’s mostly Jill and I think Jessa. Compelling; kept me from needing to read any books they write 😆. My TBR shelf is overflowing and I know there are more books coming for Solstice 🤦🏼♀️. I have a real problem.
You put The Royal Tenenbaums in my head and I believe they are my favorite fictional family, though the Roses of Schitt’s Creek might be.
Lastly...I finished Crying in H Mart and kept meaning to tell you that. I have many thoughts and feelings, but I don’t want to spoil anything or sully your experience. A gal like you will blow through it quickly. Whenever you do so, let’s compare notes.
I feel like cats and books go really well together right?? So it’s fine 😂. And yes that’s us and thank you so very much for your kind words. Our first family photo 🥹it’s the best feeling.
For both of these memoirs I listened on audio with my Scribd subscription - I wouldn’t have taken my time with either hard copy. But I love having stories told to me on audio, I can actually pay attention to the simple narrative. I will definitely need to check out Unfollow!! I haven’t seen the Duggar doc (or the show in like 10 years) but I’m so curious to hear them speak after reading the “truth”. Framing is everything in these celebrity memoirs ain’t it!!
Now I need to go rewatch Schitts Creek from the start...!
Now my interest is REALLY piqued about H Mart. Maybe I can find this one on audio next...
Congratulations on your new cat children !!!! How exciting 😍 they’re adorable. So happy for you! I also read The Hearts Invisible Furies earlier this year and LOVED it so much. The way Boyne just dropped plot shattering surprises left right and centre?! Never experienced anything like it since. And from the UK I can contribute no thanksgiving plans. I am however hoping to see the new Hunger Games film this weekend and that to me is festive.
*EYE digress 🙄

Hearts was one of the best books I’ve ever read. Unmatched in its heart and humor! And I really want to see the new hunger games hope you love it!!
I’ll report back if I do!!! It’s got big boots to fill honestly - trying to keep my expectations measured 😂
Having a cat is exactly like having a child (I have a little black cat and he’s like my son) so happy for you! Cats are such lovely companions.
Also excited to read Our Share of Night now, moved up on my tbr!
thank you - I have never been so happy to be not getting sleep in my life lol
Thanks Rachel!! If you read any of these you gotta let me know what you think
