Your mood reader dilemma outlines my last week of trying to figure out what to read perfectly. I laughed and felt seen. I'm sorry you had to go through it but I'm happy not to be alone!

I share the hard hitting stories for just this reason 😉😃

Honestly who doesn't mood read? I couldn't imagine planning my reading and going ahead and reading a book even if I wasn't in the mood... I'd end up hating reading haha! And congratulations on imminent wedding! Excited for you

yes most likely so, although I’ve seen some readers on bookstagram that stick to a TBR or do those blind dates with a book... I could never 😂

The Night House is going on my tbr! (also love the humorous but to the point style of reviews you write)

I would have to recommend Our Wives Under the Sea for a unsettling, haunting book that’s also full of love in a strange way. I’m writing a review on it currently! I recommend it to everyone, it’s that good.

Thank you!! :) and that rec sounds creepy as hell, going to check it out. If you are recommending far and wide it MUST be good!

Omg I was dying at how difficult it was for you to find your next read based on your mood because IT'S ME! I felt very seen. (P.s. Storygraph has been amazing for me in this regard-- you can select what you're in the mood for & it gives you all the books on your TBR that fit. What?!? Gamechanger)

Storygraph is an excellent suggestion!! I have been hesitant to move my entire bookworld over to another media site but this does sound like a must have feature

I totally get it! I was hesitant at first, too, but zero regrets now!

You have the best gifs.

Congrats on the impending nuptials!!! 🥳Yum for Halloween Oreos🎃👻💀🕷️🕸️

I bought Rouge on a recommendation from my fave facialist extraordinaire in NYC—Raquel Medina-Cleghorn—but haven’t even started it yet bc life has been LIFE-ING. I bought the hardback bc I’m a sucker for a pretty cover & it’s going to look great on my bookshelf.

I’m currently reading two books right now. Holly by Stephen King and Self Care by Leigh Stein.

With renovations at home, picking out paint colors, looking at carpet swatches until I want to throw them across the room, work popping off, and clearing out a storage in another state, I’m crossing my fingers that I finish both this month. 😭

I will take that accolade with honor!!

And thank you, we are pretty excited 😍😍

To say life if life-ing right now is an understatement amirite? I feel you on that one. Home renovations look so damn easy on TV... and I just started following Leigh Stein on instagram and her recent satirical self care posts have me in stitches so you gotta let us know how it is! ::Adding to TBR::

I used to laugh at people who said decorating a home was stressful and now I’m eating crow 😂😭

I’ll let you know how Self Care is! So far, it’s hilarious. I love Leigh! She’s on Substack now!
