I LOVE TWIN PEAKS i am so happy you are discovering it for the first time!!!! it’s such a wonderfully strange show I don’t even have words to accurately describe it. and it just gets more insane as it goes on

This was excellent! Fully agree identifying movies as cult classics is far easier to do than books. I DID read The Virgin Suicides in high school but sad girl lit is def not my top genre.

Reading this made me want to watch Veronica Mars. I've never seen it. I've never heard a bad thing about it and when I do hear about it, nothing but rave reviews!

OMG kitty sleeping on your face. Heaven! 😍

then not to fear you are not in the cult classics book club!! haha

Veronica Mars is so good, even though its a little bit dated, I think you can still get into it - my husband started it last year and he loves it!! I say give it a shot - the noir vibes are impeccable and K Bell is just a sassy little treat.

Thank you for another thought-provoking fun post. Watermelon Sugar! Virgin Suicides! Unforgettable reads. I think John William’s Stoner qualifies as a cult classic, although it may not be obscure enough. Before I read it, I assumed it was about a guy who was a stoner. Couldn’t be farther off! It is the story of a very down-to earth and dedicated Midwestern college professor—the writing somehow made him a character I will never forget—I know him and remember him so well.

I thought of Stoner for this list but I haven't read it so I wasnt sure what kind of cult behavior it would align with. I need to get a copy and read because it is really having a come back!

Loved this whole piece! I’ve always been drawn to things people call cult classics, I think because I’m so afraid of missing out and wanting to be included. And it’s so interesting over the years to see things evolve and become cult classics.

Also, VMARS 4 LIFE ♥️♥️♥️ Also one of the only things I own on dvd 😂

VMARS marshmallows 4 lyfe!!! Hahah. And thank you glad it hit home for you. It’s so hard to capture that thing about a cult classic that the people who love it just seem to get. Always fighting against the FOMO

As someone named for an East of Eden character, I approve of this message!

Brilliant honestly!! I knew a girl in high school named Brontë and I’m just sad I wasn’t born early enough to think of it first
